Recording your Armoured Response
Think carefully about how you record the (re)action of your amoured response - magnum photos is reknown for its photographic archive and might provide some inspiration on how to set up, compose and arrange your photographic records. Be careful with lighting, participants (what kind of people, real vs alien, night / day?) and ultimate selection.

If Looks could Kill
The Library Kills by Boudicca
A Killer, all his victims and crimes - Found in the Platform13 Library. The story unfolded by looking through random books to compile a Story/Film/Evidence. This was a film comissioned by Fashion in Film Festival London 'If Looks could Kill' 10-31 May 2008

The festival had an excellent programme of classic Films exploring the compelling links between cinema, fashion, crime and violence. Tackling themes such as disguise, the expression of desire, juvenile delinquency and the corruption of beauty, the festival features a string of underworld characters and their prosecutors whose highly effective costume, styling and sartorial gestures helped define cinematic genres from detective to thriller, gangster, film noir and horror.

BE YOUR SELF
PERFORMANCE: ADELAIDE FESTIVAL, AUSTRALIA, 2010
This dance piece, in collaboration with Garry Stewart and the Australian Dance Theatre, investigates the concept of self by re-presenting conventions we use to convince ourselves of a singular ‘I’. Dance, spoken text, video graphics and architecture are used to collapse the underpinnings of who we think we are by reframing the relationship between ‘I,’ and our physical, mechanical bodies. As part of this inquiry, DS+R designed a white fabric covered wall that moves from upstage to down, out of which body parts emerge and interact and moving images are projected.

Exactitudes
They call their series Exactitudes: a contraction of exact and attitude. By registering their subjects in an identical framework, with similar poses and a strictly observed dress code, Versluis and Uyttenbroek provide an almost scientific, anthropological record of people’s attempts to distinguish themselves from others by assuming a group identity. The apparent contradiction between individuality and uniformity is, however, taken to such extremes in their arresting objective-looking photographic viewpoint and stylistic analysis that the artistic aspect clearly dominates the purely documentary element.
