This is Whitechapel
Much like today, east London in the 1970s was undergoing rapid social and economic change. The Whitechapel Gallery commissioned Magnum photographer Ian Berry, to document this period of transition. He captured a now distant history of iconic local landmarks, such as Bloom’s kosher restaurant, the Blind Beggar pub, Brick Lane and Petticoat Lane markets and the people who lived in Whitechapel and Spitalfields.

Adolf Loos
The RIBA have organised a series of exhibitions, talks and events remembering Adolf Loos's work. As his writing in 'Ornamnet against crime' was our theoretical point of departure this year, we recommend to have a look next time you are in London.
